Enuani is an Igbo dialect spoken in Nigeria by the Anioma people of Delta State, Onitsha, Obosi and Ogbaru in Anambra State and Ndoni in Rivers State. This dialect is one of the hundreds of Igboid languages inherited from the Igbo people largely concentrated in the southeastern part of the country. The people who speak Enuani dialect are mostly located in the Delta North, Delta State. Enuani also typifies tonality in sound but like the rest of Igbo dialects in Anioma, peculiarly differs from the standard Igbo pronunciation. This language is sometimes referred to as Delta Ibo
Enuani is one of the four major Igbo dialects spoken by the Anioma people (predominantly based in Aniocha, Ndokwa, Ika and Oshimili Areas) in Delta north with the rest of this dialects being Ukwuani, Ika (Agbor) and Aboh. However, Enuani is spoken closer to Igbo language. The area of concentration of these people mostly comprises Ibusa, Asaba, Ogwashi-Uku, Illah, Issele-Uku, Issele-Azagba, Okpanam, Ubulu-uno, Ubulu-Uku, Ubulu-okiti, Ashaba Ubulu-uno, Oko commnunities, Ejeme-Aniogo, Onitsha-Ugbo, ugbolu, Idumuje-Uno, Idumuje-Ugboko, Onicha-Uku, Onicha-Olona and the rest of them. This dialect as spoken in all of these areas are homogenous in accent and mutually intelligible. It is also remarkable that this dialect has natural standardised orthography and has gained wider acceptance linguistically.
Although this dialect is hardly written as much as it spoken but it is adjudged very easy for such adoption since the dialect is spoken close to other Igbo dialects of the people located within Anambra basin.
